Monday, April 25th, 2016: It was an exceptional week for José Colón of the Morris Crickets.
First he beat the devil out of the ball, hitting .727 and as you would expect, he was voted the Player of the Week in the Sub League 2. Last week Colón went 8-11, notched 1 home run and 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. All in all, a very good week for him.
This year Colón has socked 24 hits in 65 at-bats for a .369 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .425 pace and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

 | Cityhawks Banks Named SL1's #1 Player
Monday, April 25th, 2016: Theodore Banks must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .480 pace, then the Minneapolis right fielder finds outs he has been selected the top performer and gets the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award.
Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Banks quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it."
It was a good week's work for Banks. He hit .480 average (12-25) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.
A look at his current stats shows Banks with a .304 average, 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has played in 22 games.
